エゾモモンガ（北海道研究林・標茶区、北海道）
北海道だけに生息するエゾモモンガは、木にできた穴やキツツキの古い巣などを利用し、生活の大部分を木の上で過ごす夜行性の小動物です。調査中に時折見せるその愛らしい姿は、スタッフにとって大きな癒やしとなっています。
Ezo flying squirrels (Shibecha Branch, Hokkaido Forest Research Station, Hokkaido)
The Ezo flying squirrel, endemic to Hokkaido, is a small nocturnal animal that spends most of life on trees, utilizing natural tree hollows or woodpecker nests. Its cute appearance is a great source of comfort for the staff.

中学生の体験型森林学習（徳山試験地、山口県）
徳山試験地は山口県周南市と共同して市内の中学生を対象に体験型の森林学習を年１回開催しています。樹木の直径および樹高の計測、手鋸による伐採、伐採木を用いたコースター作りを通じて森林について学ぶ機会を提供しています。
Hands-on forest learning for junior high school students (Tokuyama Experimental Station, Yamaguchi)
The Tokuyama Experimental Station, in collaboration with Shunan City, Yamaguchi, conducts an annual experiential learning program for local junior high school students. The program provides students with an opportunity to learn about forests through activities such as measuring tree diameter and height, felling trees with hand saws, and making coasters from the felled wood.

久美浜湾（舞鶴水産実験所、京都府）
閉鎖度指標が日本一高い、面積約７km²の潟湖である久美浜湾（京丹後市）は、トリガイやマガキの養殖が盛んに行われています。現在、森林系や海洋系の研究者、自治会、小学校、漁業者らが連携して、久美浜湾を舞台とした森里海連環学を実践しています。
Kumihama Bay (Maizuru Fisheries Research Station, Kyoto)
Located in Kyotango City, Kumihama Bay is a lagoon of 7 km2 with the highest index of enclosed water in Japan. It is also famous for its clam and oyster aquaculture. Currently, in collaboration with forestry and marine researchers, neighborhood associations, elementary schools, and fishermen, we are practicing the “Connectivity of Hills, Human and Oceans (CoHHO)” right here.

実験所周辺海岸（瀬戸臨海実験所、和歌山県）
瀬戸臨海実験所の北側にある海岸は、臨海実習の磯観察の場となっています。岩場にはフジツボや貝類に加え、ウニ、サンゴ、多毛類、ウミグモもみられます。風が強い日には、南方から漂流してきた海洋動物や海浜植物の実がみられることがあります。
The surrounding coast of SMBL (Seto Marine Biological Laboratory, Wakayama)
The north coast of SMBL serves as a site for intertidal fieldwork of marine courses. In addition to barnacles and snails, sea urchins, corals, polychaetes, and sea spiders can be found among the rocks. On windy days, marine animals or fruits of coastal plants that have drifted from the south can sometimes be found.
